Anybody can henna their hair, its not difficult!
Applying plant powders such as Henna or Indigo as natural hair dyes takes a bit of time, but it is not difficult – and once you have used it you will never want to use the chemical dye again! We have put together a toolbox of services that will assist you in using our natural hair colours. Some of the features are under development and will be released soon.
The “Guide to Hair Care”(
) provides information on how to mix the hair dyes to achieve different colours. Being natural hair dyes, it is not possible to get a standarised shade, however this guide will give you clear guidelines of how to mix Henna & Indigo to get different shades of coppery red to black colour.
If you need help with applying Henna or Indigo then there are professional hairdressers (
) who can assist you in applying pre-mixed hair dyes. These hair dressers are not employees of Nature Shop.
Share with us your experiences on how you mixed your colours – did you try anything different – or what worked best for you.

Wow…i’m so pleased to see your website. I discovered using henna and indigo a few months ago while living in the uk and am totally sold and definitely won’t be going back to commercial hair colours. I was thinking that i would have to keep ordering from the UK and am totally thrilled to see that i can get it here and it’s organic. Ozzie weather is much better for using this stuff as well tho may not be great for storing.
Does your henna and indigo come in light proof or foiled packaging cause i know they both are light sensitive.

I love your henna and indigo mix! I will never go back to using chemicals on my hair again. I recently lost all my hair due to chemotherapy and now that it has grown back it feels so lovely with the henna and indigo mix. I found that it has taken a couple of applications for it to really “take” on my “virgin” hair, but now that it has, the colour is really deepening and it feels lovely.
I was onwdering if you were going to be exhibiting at the Organic Expo in Sydney again this year?

Just thought I would let you know the henna is fantastic stuff.
I improved it – I used an electronic egg beater on the indigo mixture and the henna and then combined them and whipped them up for about 5 min each.
It was an 100% improvement in the application of it – my sister said it is amazing stuff to apply now – one it has been whipped with an electronic egg beater!
I left it in for three hours and the colour is wonderful.

I recently coloured my hair with Henna for the first time. It turned out beautifully and I\’ve never been happier with the colour. My sister now wants to colour with Henna too. Thanks for your help when I called, I may not have had the nerve to go through with it otherwise and I\’m so glad I did. The soap bars are wonderful too – I use it on my children also and their hair has never been so shiny! Plus they don\’t seem to fuss so much if it gets in their face like they do with store bought products. Thanks again, Kelly
